I shouldn’t admit this, but most of my experiments are failures. OK, not total failures, they’re almost always still edible, and most are even tasty. Those that aren’t, being carnivore, get mixed in with the dogs’ home made food when possible. So almost never wasteful. But every once in a while I come up with a game changer. Like this one.
Before I proceed, I just want to say that, though I didn’t consult anyone else’s recipes to make this, I am a recipe-reading fanatic. So who knows what is stuck in my brain that made it through into this dish? I know that lots of carnivore recipes overlap, too, with several content creators sharing very similar dishes. And I want to give credit where it is due, if that’s a thing here…let me know…
The crust is made from 3 parts shredded (not grated) parmesan cheese, 2 parts pork panko, and 1 part egg white. Mix until combined, then let sit until egg is soaked into panko. Spread it onto your baking pan (I used parchment, sprayed), and bake at 350°F until puffed and golden.Shredded chicken breast from a rotisserie chicken……and some sliced swiss cheese on topCrispy, almost buttery, edges…such a delight!
I made the sauce by softening 6 oz of cream cheese (because that’s what I had) in the microwave, adding 2T of soft butter and maybe ¼c of shredded parmesan – which melted well in the very warm cream cheese – plus about a tsp of yellow mustard (which you can omit if you only eat animal foods).…cooked chopped bacon…Back in the oven until the cheese was really melty!I was able to pick this up with my fingers, the crust held up just fine once it was cool enough to handle…and look at that texture – WOW!!! I wanted carnivore today but I will definitely be making a keto pizza with tomato sauce using this crust soon too!
